The school focuses always on academic excellence. I have been so impressed by their focus on good subject choices, extra lessons and personal attention. My child has consistently improved from grade 7 to now going into matric as a potential seven distinction candidate. With exceptional maths, science and English teachers she has thrived. The management leads an exceptional group of staff, and proves by example that education, research and good communication are critical for good student outcomes. Recent growth in more sports and social events have also been so good to see.
We would just like to share our experience with Woodlands International College, especially the Pre-Primary.
In the 4 years we have been at Woodlands, the last year, being grade 0 has been the best. Our son was lucky enough to find himself in Teacher Candice Muller’s class.
She has instilled manner's, loved and cared for him. She has kept us up to date with important information continuously (We hope this will continue at the primary school). He has come home reporting about how he loves school and we believe it’s because of the environment she created for her class. She does not shout, takes every child’s sensory need into account, which has made our lives easier.
She speaks inclusivity.
We have seen huge growth in him, with regards to his time to read and number sense. She has been phenomenal. It is because of her that our son has a solid foundation going into grade 1 next year and for that we are so thankful.
A special word of thanks also goes out to the “glue” of the School, Principle Jenny Copeling. Your unveiling love for the children is apparent and we thank you for continuously pouring into them!
I am beyond grateful for the experience my family has had with Woodlands International College. Watching my nephew and niece grow into exceptional young adults has been nothing short of heartwarming. My niece, a headstrong young lady with big dreams, found a perfect match in the college’s environment, which nurtured her personality and ambitions.
However, it is my nephew’s journey that truly stands out. A brilliant child, yet often misunderstood due to his mischievous nature, he struggled to find a school that saw his potential beyond the surface. That is until he met Mrs. Harvey at Woodlands International College. She was a rare Principal who not only recognized his intelligence but truly understood him. In primary school, he was often labeled a jokester, overlooked and picked on by those who didn’t see past his playful demeanor. But Mrs. Harvey did. With unwavering support and genuine care, she took him under her wing, helping him unlock his true potential.
It’s because of Mrs. Harvey and the amazing team at Woodlands that my nephew has blossomed into the phenomenal person he is today. His confidence has soared, his personality shines brighter than ever, and his academic progress year after year is a testament to the nurturing and dedication he received. Woodlands, with its exceptional staff like Mrs. Harvey, saw the best in him when others didn’t.
Mrs. Harvey, I want to express my deepest gratitude to you. You never gave up on my nephew, and you helped him realize the incredible person he always was. Your passion, care, and belief in him have made a lasting impact on our family. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for everything you’ve done. You have shaped his future in a way that words cannot fully capture. We are forever grateful.
I am pleased to serve as the Head of Sport at Woodlands International College. This year, our multi-purpose sports arena catered for more than 4 sporting disciplines. We hosted the Easterns boys hockey festival this year, an athletics high school cluster meet, multiple netball games across 4 courts, including a cricket semi-final. We boast a 3 km cross-country route that accommodated over 6 schools in October. Our 1st netball team toured Cape Town and partictated in an elite competition. Each sport is given equal exposure in order for all athletes to showcase their skills and talents. In addition, we had over 20 athletes represent Woodlands at district level for hockey, athletics, cross-country, cricket and football this year. Our sports arena is also home to a netball club for external netball enthusiasts. Woodlands sport has grown from strength to strength. We look forward to a bright, action-packed 2025!
Wow my kids school years have come to an end. I just want to say a huge thank you to woodlands international college. If it wasn’t for your teachers and management team I don’t know how myself and my kids would have made it. Thank you for being there not only as teachers but as an emotional support for kids that were having a tough time with studies and focusing. I would recommend woodlands to anyone that wants a school that treat their students as human being not just paying parents. This school really looks out for the kids. Thank you
My children have been at Woodlands since they were 3 years old. They love school! As a parent, I know my children are well taken care of. I have also observed so much growth over the last 9 years. The teaching and standard of work are of a very high standard, so I know they will cope better later in their academic careers. I love that the teachers show interest and are dedicated to the development of my children. The school is progressive and we love being a part of the Woodlands Family! Thank you, Woodlands.
Woodlands International College only looks good from the outside. Parents if you want your child to keep one teacher for less than a year then yes, this is the place to be. This year alone i’ve had 3 register teacher because of staff shortages. the Zulu department is extremely poor but they don’t care because it’s filled with predominantly black people. in terms of extra murals Woodlands is only good for boy soccer because the schools directors sons play soccer and that’s all they care about. That big sports arena that they advertise is terrible and was built in the account of soccer. on that, Soccer boys have been taken to Denmark just to play, while on the other hand any other sport like hockey , swimming or netball takes the backseat. Meals at the tuckshop have been reported to south african health officials that’s how you know how bad it is but i won’t say much. students can’t even form good connections with teachers because They get rid of good teachers and they leave unexpectedly.
on the bright side though the education is very good but that’s really all you can benefit from woodlands.
There has been an incredible shift in the International /National exposure at the Senior college over the last year.
The sports and academic sectors have seen overseas football tours and local netball tours. Also local sporting camps. Hosting International Football tournaments vs Zimbabwe on the new Sports Astro.
Academic exposure to the local universities have been highlights for some grade 11 students recently.
I am a proud parent to be associated with a school which is growing and evolving and not stagnating or closed to ideas. Well done Woodlands. Xxx
Not really a great school. Overpriced for nothing, my children weren't really learning and obtaining any information my eldest son failed. Woodlands has a habit of firing teachers and the school focuses more on their favorite students
What a fun, energetic and family filled day! Thank you Woodlands for making a day for the dads! Loved the games and the freedom to enjoy my kids in an environment that they are so comfortable in. 💪🏼
Padel Fundraiser this weekend for Soccer tour to DANA CUP- Denmark, was an absolute win. Fabulous turn out and Fun all round thank you to all who were involved! #Padel Plus at Benoni Country Club fantastic set up!
Proud to be part of a community who cares for the individuals, my children are not just a number! 💐
The campus at woodlands has a nice layout, the sports fields that are almost finished will be a knock out and the football is good especially in the current u16 age group.
My kids enjoy being in the Senior College, teachers are lovely and care for their well being. They are seriously looking forward to the completion of the sports facilities. It is looking stunning! 🫶🏻
WOW WOW WOW is all we can say about Woodlands.
My kids have been in Woodlands for their 2nd year now. We have not had a problem and we have absolutely enjoyed every moment being apart of the Woodlands Family.
My Eldest daughter who is now in Grade one, was absolutely loved by her Grade 0 teacher that she refused to go to Grade one and she had an incredible bond with her teacher. She has gained so much in this school as a person.
We are very happy with this school and would not look twice. Everyone is so loving, friendly and its such an incredible feeling when everyone knows everyone in the school. It really is as close as a family is.
Thank you for everything, you definitely should enroll your children in this school if you want an A grade education as well as an A grade environment for your kid.
Thank you not only to this incredible school, but to you all who have played an important role in both Taylor and Mila's Education .
Woodlands College has given my girls a wonderful education in a friendly and tranquil environment . The teachers are caring , and teach in a respectful manner .
Sport at the Woodland improvers year on year and they are presently in all the top leagues . Looking forward to the sport being even better with the development of there world class astro facility this year . Highly recommend Woodlands College .
Woodlands is a wonderful school with a tranquil campus. The teachers are not only extremely well trained but also put the needs of their students first. Their attention to detail in every aspect is impeccable. Every event is thoroughly planned and perfectly executed. Top class education in such an amazing environment.
It’s a shame when children get disciplined in accordance to school rules, which I am sure you agreed to when you signed up with Woodlands, how upset parents can get! It’s your fault they are going to school not wearing the right uniform! If they shaved at home like every other shaving man does, they wouldn’t be forced to shave at school. Stand up and be parents for a change, discipline your children, stop acting like a mate and they won’t get into trouble!!
This school provides a healthy environment for learners as pupils are given space to grow and form bonds with others . Pupils are given the opportunity to express themselves and be heard . There is a balance between work and fun with a variety of sports and cultural activities as well as the work done inside the classroom . The school aims to “rise above mediocrity” as their motto states . The teachers are qualified and provide learners with adequate individual attention . Students are well behaved and polite . It is an inclusive environment where all identities are considered and everyone has a voice .
What a fantastic school, the new staff in Senior College are the best in the country! Strongest Maths department in SA! These teachers connect with the students, give academic support early mornings and afternoons! Top results this year, the College has never been stronger. My daughter is the happiest she has ever been!
I have been at Woodlands since Grade 7 and I absolutely love the school. Tomorrow is my last day before Prelims start, the school has made this Grade 12 year fantastic! Going to miss this beautiful place & people.
My children have been at Woodlands for more than 13 years and I have never had an issue.
The teachers are amazing and put the children first. There is no favouritism as stated. All children are treated equally and fairly. The education level is of a high standard and the teachers assist the children wherever possible.
Very good school!!
Teachers are full of favoritism!! we had the worst experience with the school. No parent should ever go through what we went through with our child. Teachers with very cold hearts and 0% care from leadership.
unsympathetic teachers with favoritism. It has been a nightmare for my family for putting our child at the Primary school in this school. we had to take our child out because they believe our child is not good enough for the school. no sympathy or patience for children at all and no care of how the parent is feeling. Very disappointed Parent
Be carful because in this school no matter what u do, you are divided by favoritism. It builds ur skills and is good but not recommendeded for a long term high school experience
This school is not what it used to be.
They are invading privacy go students. Go against their own code of conduct and tailor it to suit themselves.
Some of the teachers aew completely rude. High staff turn over.
Principals don't last a year... Your child is lucky to have the same homeroom teacher for the whole year.
One year one class had 4 different teachers.
They are always picking on kids.
A definite no go for me and it took me 8 years to realise this school is a bad place for my kids and my sanity.
The schools OK, great actually . But I don't like the fact that some teachers shout at and yell or even accuse us for a one small mistake we didn't know we did, they should confront us nicely not attack and make us feel like we murdered someone
