You can’t rate a school on one person’s experience, but my 2 boys are very happy there. As a parent, I find the teachers truly caring about my children’s best interests.
If I have a concern or question about work, they are always very willing to assist.
If my kids are happy, then I am. They spend most of their week time there, so it's very important.
I attended this school in the 1980's, as did many of my family members- it truly was an exceptional place under Niel McGurk.
However! My children went there for a number of years, and what a disaster. The quality of teaching, the student body and the parent body leave much to be desired.
There is an inordinate amount of nepotism which operates amongst the students, parents and the teaching body.
My one child was physically assaulted by a fellow student - to this day I struggle to comprehend the lack of compassion and appropriate action taken by the school. It did damage that has taken years to undo.
Sadly, I deeply regret that I ever sent my children to this school that I once so cherished and admired.
What a sadness that all the remarkle traits of the old Sacred Heart College, so lovingly and conscientiously created by the brothers and sisters years ago, have been eroded.
It is now nothing more than a sad, mediocre institution that still drags on the coattails of its once illustrious past.
