Stay far way

Extremely unprofessional money making environment. Bullying is at its peak. Children get beaten up in toilets and are afraid to speak up due to the threats that come from " above"

Disappointing

Christian, homophobic, racist and revolves around money.

Incredibly toxic and unsupportive environment.

Attended Reddam House Waterfall for about 7 years and matriculated recently. I can honestly say I wholeheartedly regret going to this school. The bullying, entitlement and overall habit of sweeping problematic issues under the carpet is astonishing.

Most of my teachers did not spend more than a few short years at Reddam because it was so toxic and problematic. There was a constant rotation of teachers almost to the point where if you had one teacher for a subject for a full year you were incredibly lucky.

Reddam is not only disorganised, but they lack effective management and planning which made being a student at the school very frustrating. This school markets itself as a state of the art school with a “zero-bullying policy” but I assure you that if you ask any student older than 12 that’s attended this school that it is all flash and no function making an array of empty promises that never get fulfilled. I was promised so much when I first attended in 2013 including a variety of unique after-school clubs and activities. It is 2021 and the school has yet to even introduce these activities. Do not give into the false promises.

If you are considering sending your kids here please do not put your children through the frustration and trauma of attending this circus of a school. I assure you you’ll not only be sparing your child’s mental health and sanity but your money too.

Not worth it

Was at the school from grade 6-12 and hated absolutely every minute of it.
The management of the school was shocking, it was very money and image orientated so no one cared about the students. So many cases of racism, sexism, homophobia and bullying that were brought to the schools attention but nothing was done about it because it was easier to sweep everything under the carpet to avoid a scandal. A student was told everyday to “kill herself” by another very problematic student however nothing was done about it even after it had been reported numerous times because the students mom was a teacher. I was told by the heads of discipline that if I didn’t stop reporting bullying and problematic behavior within my grade that I would face discipline. The students were spoiled and the social environment within the student body was toxic. The sport was terrible and not because the students couldn’t play sports but because within the 6 years that I was there I was coached by my maths teacher, Afrikaans teacher, English teacher and drama teacher. There was a huge turnover of teachers, I once had 3 geography teachers in one year, my maths lit teacher told me after 2 weeks of being there that she couldn’t wait to leave because of the environment (she left soon after) and speaking of maths lit, once the head of education who was also a physics teacher stated that “maths lit was a subject for the dumb kids”. We were constantly told by our bitter 200 year old English teacher to “go play on the highway”. The schools tuckshop is a Kauai which is great and all until you’re paying R50 for a slice of toast and R85 for a wrap which is not suitable for students.

Overall just really not worth the almost R130,000 a year on tuition. Reddam likes to sell an image of a high-end, state of the art perfect school when it is so problematic in reality.

Stuck in the past

Filled with racists, homophobes, and misogynists. Principal is so devoted to the school's image that he doesn't care about changing anything for the benefit of the students. The few staff members that do want things to change can barely say anything for risk of their jobs. Multiple students have been sexually harassed by a student and the school did nothing about it. Claims to ve nondemominational but is heavily Christian, with little respect for other religions (especially Islam) and for non religious students. Don't send your children here if you want a progressive environment of any sort.

Amazing School❤️❤️🌈🌈

It's a really great school, on my first day people came up to me and talked to me and I have a lot of new friends.
I've been in Reddam for 3 and a half years now and it still seizes to amaze me.
There is never any bullying and we respect each other and the teachers and students are very supportive.
I highly recommend this school, your child will love it!!!💞💞❤️❤️🌈
