I never have or take the time to write a review, but in all honesty somehow somewhere this must be brought to light. Education is already being flushed however Plumstead takes this to a new level. IF EVER you are looking for a High School - PLEASE DO NOT place your child with Plumstead High. Not if you care for your childs education. The grade head and deputy grade head along with the groupies are ALL so focused on acting out personal vendettas against fellow staff and students that they seem to have forgotten WHY they are at school. TO TEACH - They bully and lie as it suits their agenda....Plumstead is a complete distaster. Just thought I would warm other parents
Plumstead teachers treat students horribly and have no emotional awareness. Teachers have dismissed actual mental conditions and have shamed students for having to go through these conditions. Teachers have no respect for learners and expect learners to respect them back when they themselves have shown no reason to. Certain teachers will shout at students even though they have been on their best behaviour and have not been making a sound in the current moment. Teachers have brought learners to tear and have put them through vigorous amounts of emotional destress. It has been taken to the point where learners will not even arrive to class, not by free will but by mental and emotional destress that the classroom/teacher has caused them. The learners are even worse causing more emotional and some times physical destress to others.
it’s so old fashioned and the teachers care more about ur appearance that has nothing with our education than the actual low quality education that the school gives and. there’s no arts like creative outlet for the artistic students who want to express themselves but no they care more about sports that doesn’t really matter and it really makes me wonder what kind of future we have with the little opportunities we have here. there’s also no equality like the girls can’t wear pants and boys can’t wear earrings and south africa is a democracy so why are we still set 50 years back and the inside looks like hell itself.
100% do not recommend
I've attended this school for 2 years and left. Teachers don't care and will embarrass you if you are doing bad. There is only a few teachers that i really respected and think they should be in a different school. The principal is kind but he should focus more on education then sports. 70% Learners who attend Plumstead High only care about drugs and sex and they have no respect when it comes to teachers. There is this new afrikaans teacher that i really dislike, he will bully you in a class and embarrass you, even if he is joking i dont want to feel scared to put my hand up but he is new to being a teacher and he still needs to learn.
Most teachers come off too harsh and make me feel afraid. My anxiety is bad and sometimes I cannot for the love of God, raise my hand or hand in an assignment because they make me feel threatened. Ughh maybe it's just me but the teachers need to become more aware of how the students feel.
They focus to much on sports that their own pride an joy . What about the students who are artistically incline? There's no exciting activities to do for kids who love working with their hands or those who love dance .Every time they try to start an activity like that they fail epically , academics is important but just think ...not all children want to be a sports player or academic
genius
the school itself needs work. very old fashioned still. the rules included. as a member of the RCL, you see how the teachers pay more attention to stupid little things instead of big issues. the teachers are fine, but they could use a new principal who can actually discipline and understands learners in this day and age. due to this, the school started going downhill after 2018. very sad. they focus more on sports than they do on actual education. bullying runs rampant and there is no support for learners. uniform and conduct codes are rediculous. they would rather the learner's get cold during winter as they "were not allowed to wear other raincoats" even though the raincoats are expensive.
70% of the children are bad influences/bullies. Most teachers play favorites. Arguments occur regularly. Many teachers don't teach in a way that helps children understand. They tend to focus on small issues and completely ignore valuable points or problems. Most rules mentioned in the code of conduct are ignored by both students and teachers.
Plumstead is place of comfort. Good application of education. Teachers are well qualified and plumstead is more than just a school it is like a home to us students
