Urgent Appeal for Investigation and Intervention at [North Wood independent high school]

To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing to bring to your attention the grave issues occurring at [North Wood], which urgently require investigation. The current state of this institution is not only unethical but also detrimental to the future of its learners. Below are the key concerns that highlight the dire need for immediate action:

1. Favoritism and Unethical Practices: There is clear favoritism in determining which learners pass or fail, undermining the integrity of education. Report cards appear inconsistent with marking standards, and learners' futures are being manipulated without accountability.

2. Inadequate Resources and Unsafe Facilities:

Classrooms are overcrowded, with over 60 learners per room.

There are insufficient chairs and tables to accommodate learners.

Facilities are in disrepair, with unsafe and illegal electrical wiring posing serious risks.

Essential teaching resources are lacking, severely hampering the quality of education.

3. Unqualified and Irresponsible Staff:

Many teachers are pensioners, with some lacking proper qualifications.

Several subjects have no assigned teachers, leaving learners without guidance.

Teachers are often absent, and some are seen smoking within school premises, setting a poor example for learners.

4. Illegal Examination Conduct:

Examinations are conducted improperly, compromising the credibility of the results.

Learners are made to carry out tasks meant for teachers, such as marking and other administrative duties, which is highly inappropriate and unethical.

These issues collectively create an unsafe and unproductive environment that fails to nurture the learners' potential. It is essential to ensure that the school adheres to educational standards and prioritizes the well-being and future of its students.

I respectfully request the Department of Education to urgently investigate these allegations and take the necessary steps to address the issues. Please visit the school, review its facilities, interview learners, and scrutinize its teaching and administrative practices. Only through proper oversight and reform can we ensure a safe and equitable learning environment for all.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. The future of our children depends on your prompt action.

Sincerely,
[Concerned Individual]
