NWU used to be a fantastic university to study. Due to being smaller than some of the other universities, coupled with the town atmosphere of Potchefstroom, this university can offer a diverse range of experiences in a setting where it is easier not to get lost. However, Covid changed all this. The university management is quite draconian in the application of Covid measures, with little regard to facts and decisions based on subjective opinions of a few people in positions of power. The manner in which they are implementing their compulsory vaccination policy, bringing it in after repeatedly stating they will not have a compulsory vaccination policy, exemplifies this deterioration in proper management. Unless they start living their stated values, this university risks becoming nothing more than a third grade institution.
One of the best universities in South Africa. Everything is great from lecturers to the vibrant student life. If you want to have fun while you're working hard towards your dreams, then NWU is your best bet🙃
One of the best universities out there. Very well maintained, with some of the verby best teachers out there. Up to date and very rich in tradition, sport and academy.
The university cares more about meeting some political agenda then actually listening to it's students. Chances are if you like something about this university it wont be there in a year or 2. Been here for 4 years. In that time they changed the color scheme of the past couple of decades, even after students voted to keep it, they actively decide to destroy anything of the student culture you may like such as JOOL and the put quata systems on everything. Honestly it's a political mess.
