Muizenberg High School not so Quintile 4 after all
After the excitement of getting back to a Quintile 4 school since moving to Cape Town, and with the general view of Muizenberg community, I didn’t realise I was sending my child to a lifeless school. The school field is more dog poo than the field itself, surely it’s not a dog park. For some reason Muizenberg high school lacks vision, leadership, structure and mostly a living heart. The amount of teachers that have resigned between 2023 and 2024 is appalling, especially from a specific subject. I hope the matrics will cope in their final exams. Watching an educator asking the Physics learners to explain her subject concept to other learners took me out. But then again I’ve seen learners booing their head and this seems to be the norm. Surely this is not a Quintile 4 school, I just don’t know what to call or place it and I can’t disrespect and insult township schools by placing it there.
At first when I got there I was obviously excited as I was starting high school but when I finally realized that I was sold lies and the school didn't keep the promises that they had made. The school is very unorganized and does not take childrens requests seriously. The children also do not have any respect or one another, their environment and the teachers. To prove that the school is taking a downfall, there have been so many good teachers that have resigned because they can't take it anymore. Past pupil that were there maybe before 2016 really talk about how they enjoyed the school but you can ask anyone from the teacher to the students who are there now. They will all have a contradictory answer. The school needs help.
I'm a learner at muizenberg high school and I'm so proud to be part of muizenberg high I only started school this year because in grade 8 but they were so welcoming to all of the grade 8 so I just can't to see how the rest of the year is going to turn out so thanks for accepting me at muizenberg high the school beside the sea
