Boring school with little enforcement of rules or leadership.
The school is average at best, and incompetent at worst. There is no unique, original school culture. Everything is regurgitated ideas, stolen from other, better schools. The academic standard is subpar, with the teachers either being overworked or untrained, probably both. It is hard not to sound pessimistic, but the tuckshop is an absolute joke. Pathetic. There is luckily a garage near the school. Overall, it would be a waste to send your children to this school.
I were a teacher at Melkbos. I would not suggest melkbos as an address to work at. The school principal and management of the school lacks managerial leadership big time. It is a multicultural school and not the best quality of learners. The salaries are not of the best and so the school doesn’t look after its staff. The struggle with a high employee turnover rate yearly and it doesn’t concern the principal at all. Teachers gets overloaded with a lot of work with nothing in return. The security though are safe and reception staff is always friendly. I
I am a student of this school. Although it is a good school there are some things that can be improved. All schools can be improved in my opinion. Some of these things are, how bullying is handled, how teachers treat different students from different backgrounds and also equal opportunities for all learners. I do recommend this school to other learners.
Highly overrated and the fact that the school likes to enforce the fact that everyone is different and unique but forces people to look a certain way is heartbreaking changes are needed
As a student, this school is ok,but they don't handle bullies well. The sports are below average. The teachers won't really help you if you are struggling.
I wouldn't really recommend this school. It is ok, but the vibe is boring. Teachers aren't very helpful. If you struggle academically, you'd get behind alot.
This is an excellent school and is perfect for learners in the area. Every school has its problems such as bullying or a teacher that is not the learner’s favorite, but all the good qualities of the school make up for the little bad. Such as the wide variety of sports and cultural events it offers or the involvement of most of the teachers. I would highly recommend this school as the five years I’ve spent there were the best five years of my life!
Students have different experiences. My experience as a student has been good... in terms of the level of education, but i do agree with the people who say... bullying doesn't get taken seriously enough.
As a student of the school. I dont agree with how the school is run. Many parents may tell me that's because I dont know or understand how a school is suppose to be run. I don't like how when someone is bullying another, it is not taken seriously. The extra curricular activities are short compared to sports. They are still fun. The drama club is quite good as well. The education (in my oppinion) is abit overexplained by the educators.
The school is fine if you live in the area and have to walk to school, but make choices before the final decision. I also dont agree that we are not allowed to even hug our friends. I understand the "no touching" rule put in place but I think its going abit too far.
This high school is amazing, there are so many amazing teachers and students and many people to make friends with. I enjoy this school so much and it has been a dream . I am definitely learning a lot and I am definitely going back again next year (2021) .
