Academically, it’s a good school especially since the fees are very reasonable for a private Catholic school. However, they are terrible at handling student affairs.
I went to this school since grade one and I have seen a lot of negative change in regards to the prestige it holds and the respect students are given. It used to be an amazing school that built strong young women, and now its merely a playground where students have to fight for their lives everyday against racist teachers. Students are not heard and are referred to using racial slurs and go top that off, black students (in a majority black school) are not free to express they’re cultural truths while some teachers happily appropriate black culture.
Not to mention that black students had to beg, meeting after meeting after meeting, just to wear their natural hair (Afro’s) to school as if they were in control of how their hair grows out of their head. It’s absurd.
They just throw the Word of God in students’ faces in hopes to cover the fact that they sweep everything under the carpet. These things are just to name a few, including disgusting perverted high school male teachers who made references about students’ legs/skirt, while another male teacher called a classroom full of young impressionable girls “incubators”, spoke a little too much about students’ ‘melons’ and ‘oranges’ (referring to their intimate body parts) and shoved students around because he couldn’t control his temper.
All in all, as someone who was there since grade one, I’ve seen how it’s going downhill gradually as the years progress. Again, regarding academics, the school it all right but handles student affairs very poorly.
Best value for money. Fees are very reasonable compared to what they are offering and also compared to other schools. Very supportive, offer the best both academically and extra-mural activities. For me taking my son there was the best decision ever. The principal highly experienced, very supportive and understanding. I will forever be grateful to McAuley House.
I attended McAuley House since grade 8 and I'm going to grade 11 now. It's a very good school the teachers are very considerate and supportive. What I love about my school is that they make sure that the children don't fail, they work hard in helping them understand where they don't understand. The school also have counseling, it truly helps. McAuley House focuses on giving their learners a bright future. In McAuley House we consider one another family.
