Love the school and the teachers are great and kind I would recommend this school. The education is great the are dyslexia, adhd, autistic friendly. I have been a student here for 8 years and I loved every moment of it. The classes are very nice and neat
Generation Schools Sunningdale is the most incredible school - not only because of its staff complement and welcoming environment, but also because of their focus on the whole child - it is more than just academics - it is about looking at the student holistically and understanding their interests and needs.
Coming to Generation was a life-changing decision! Our son was really struggling in a traditional environment and just wasn't understood. From the very first moments of the tour I was given, I knew Generation was the right school. He is so attentive now and empowered and loves going to school. The staff are incredible and genuinely care. As parents, we can't thank you enough.
Moving my son to Generation Schools Sunningdale is the best decision we ever made! He is so happy and has made so many new friends.
The quality Educators provide individualised attention with a one educator to 15 students ratio!
Would never go anywhere else!
Thank you to Brigitte and her team!
Overall a very positive experience since joining this year. Am glad I moved both my children to Generation. Have been impressed with the communication and the teachers are lovely.
From the tour we had to officially starting this year, it has been such a smooth process. Helpful teachers and school secretaries always willing to answer all my questions.
My daughter loves going to school and runs in, all on her own (at the age of 3).
The Sunningdale campus is a great place for kids to grow in confidence and thrive. My boys love their teachers (they both have two incredible teachers) and the sports coaches. Like the fact that different ages are put together in a class.
Experience at the school has been a good one since we joined in 2019. The system used in the school works for my son. Love how the classes have two teachers and not just one. Holiday care provided is also great, and he loves going to school.
This school has changed my child's life! She is the happiest she has ever been - thank you Generation Schools for putting the child and their needs first!!
As a former employee, Generation Schools Sandown Institute is not a good place to work at or be a student. The staff turnover is incredibly high and many students struggle with the idea that their teachers abruptly leave. In fact, many teachers leave end of term simply because the contracts force you to. Staff turnover is so great due to the increasing responsibilities the school shoves on teachers who are already barely coping, while underpaying them and never respecting their emotional needs.
Further, students are passed from grade to grade despite failing courses (almost all of them) and marks are “made up” so that the school looks like it offers a good education when in reality most students come in completely lacking and teachers get reprimanded for making content not incredibly easy.
Behavioral issues in students are rarely addressed and many students feel unsafe within their school environment. The school has teachers who love their students and want to go above and beyond but leave because management makes it absolutely impossible to be a good teacher and a functioning human being.
Working at generation schools will deteriorate your mental health and they will still call you to do work from your hospital bed.
If I could give less stars, I would but unfortunately that’s not an option.
The school is appealing at first, offering Cambridge system and all. But the management have no idea how to run the school. They don't know how the Cambridge system works in South Africa, and when you try to get help with it, the HOD's/Principal just moves they're mouth and really doesn't say anything useful to help you. The school's one and only mission is to get you in and take your money, not the care of its students.
This school overall is just a wild circus. Don't go here.
Standards of the school is lacking to say the least. Administrative experiences are a nightmare.
School cares more about making money than the individual.
With each new school opening they just become more watered-down.
They should maybe spend a little less time focusing on social media posts and advertising and more time on improving the schools they already have.
This primary school is amazing. With four kids in our family, we have had a variety of experiences here, and we are so glad to be sending our kids to a great Montessori school. The teachers are thoughtful, kind, inventive and supportive - absolutely everything you'd want for your children. The principal and the deputy are both so attentive and nurturing. They do a great service to the children, and are always available for a chat.
Generation Schools Sandown is a really great school. I was previously at another private school in the area and am much happier here. The teachers are kind and really care, and treat us with respect. We are able to talk about any issues with Teachers as they have an open-door policy and we are often encouraged to bring our ideas to the CEO, who is clearly very passionate about our experience and our education.
The school is still new so of course there are some stumbling blocks but the good by far out weighs the bad!
I have had a really empowering experience at the school and I have grown so much with regards to my independence and self-management.I have done well academically and any time I need extra help, my teachers are always ready to help.
I have formed relationships with my peers and teachers that I will forever cherish!
.
I in fact love our school and we have kind and very passionate teachers that work very hard to make sure we do well. Our school though it has its problems is 100% better than others schools in the area. Our schools uniform is incredibly accommodating and are fair when compared to other schools as we basically wear casual clothes, and even more most students just were civies anyways!
Most of these reviews are appalling as these students commenting are mostly the students that disobey and bully others around them!
I have to admit that many changes can be made and that better disciplinary measures should be taken for certain situations, but if you want this to happen maybe start by trying not to complain about the school being too strict because it honestly isn’t, we actually have too much freedom, to be completely honest list of people writing these reviews are just disrespectful kids tryna look cool to your friends :)
Generations Sandown isn’t a bad school unless you’re not white, not skinny, not able bodied, neurodivergent, have working taste buds or use any form of common sense.
I’m not saying it’s bad. It offers food, granted i haven't eaten it in months. It also has a bridge, though you wouldn’t be able to access it if you were physically disabled. You would probably not be able to access anything if you were disabled because there is just an endless amount of stairs.
The dress code isn’t bad, though it doesn’t cater to poc or people with bigger bodies but i mean other than that i can’t complain much. Though the uniform is way overpriced for something that’s shipped late, and only open to shop once every blue moon. Speaking of the uniform the hoodies are pointless, if i wanted to be that cold in winter id just come in a short sleeved shirt.
On the topic of weather there is no air-conditioning in any of the classes and there have been a few occasions of people collapsing due to heat but it’s alright because we'll get aircons one day (maybe, if we’re lucky)
It has a 0 tolerance policy when it comes to racism and sexism (not homophobia though so i guess don’t be homosexual) but those rules only apply to poc. If youre white you can say racial slurs to your hearts content so you don’t have to worry about that.
The only actual good thing about the school is the fact that it uses the Cambridge curriculum though it’s pretty much rendered useless when all the good teachers are constantly leaving.
I am a former teacher and had a horrible experience not only do they lie about the qualifications you need to go to collage but the food choices are horrible and the current principal is racist .They are unable to keep any staff because of how bad the salary is and considering how much students pay it makes you wonder where does this money go ...cars?,houses?,bridges?
Generation Schools Sandown is one of the most deceitful, disorganised and hands down worst school I have ever come across.
The education is lacking in most subjects. The sports and culture department is non existent. Many empty promises have been made by both the CEO, and the current principal, who was the head of academics.
Generation Schools Sandown can not seem to keep a principal nor teacher for at least one year. In 2020 there were three different principals throughout the year. Most admin staff hate their job and are unfairly treated, as well as expected to complete last minute tasks.
Discipline seems to be a fairytale in this school, because it never happens. Teachers are constantly being disrespected by most younger students.
Generation Schools does supply food for its pupils, but that does not mean it is always edible. The kitchen staff only recently started wearing masks and hairnets, yet lack gloves. The whole kitchen staff were put on leave as most of them were infected with COVID-19 in December 2020.
Speaking of COVID-19. The COVID-19 protocols are not taken seriously at Generation Schools Sandown. Almost three entire grades were told to quarantine during their June/July exams, as there was a mass COVID-19 outbreak.
Generation Schools Sandown is one of the most disorganized schools.
The best teachers are continuously leaving because they find better jobs (which isn’t hard at all).
Most children are dissatisfied with Generations as they are bias and do not put the students first.
Jewish children feel unsafe and the POC’s of the school feel picked on.
Not to mention, their code of conduct states that they have ‘no tolerance for bullying’ however there are no justifiable punishments handed out to those who break this ‘strict’ rule of theirs.
Having a phone on you seems to be more of a sin than being racist at that school.
Generation school imhoff is an amazing school for artistic students. The teachers are very passionate and excellent at teaching. However at times the teaching pase was a little slower than needed. There aren't many opportunities for team sport at the present moment due to the school being so new. There are many opportunities for the students focusing on starting business. The school is very quick at finding ways to resolve any problems the students may cause and don't take punishment further than needed. It is a safe environment and excellent for younger children.
