Eden is an Excellent School
The negative comments by a former student are not true. The teachers at Eden are extremely professional and go the extra mile to make the lessons interesting and full of content. Most of the staff have many years of teaching experience. They also constantly offer extra help to students during breaks or after school. There are free scheduled extra English, Afrikaans and Maths lessons for grade 11 and 12 after school which many students take advantage of. Eden's results speak for the themselves. They achieved top in district for several.subjects in the 2025 matric exams. And about 60% of the matrics achieved an A or B aggregate in those exams, resulting in an average of 3 A's per candidate. Eden produces happy, confident, well educated and successful students. I highly recommend this small, private, co-ed school.
Consistent failure to take action
The management at Eden College Durban has been deeply disappointing. The current principal is not fit to be in a leadership position. She does not appear to be sufficiently involved or aware of what is happening within the school, and she consistently fails to take action in important situations. This lack of effective leadership has led to ongoing frustration within the school community.
Concerns Regarding Teaching Standards at Eden College Durban
Several members of the teaching staff do not show the level of knowledge, preparation, or teaching skill needed to provide learners with a high standard of education. In some cases, there seems to be a lack of effort and commitment. Lessons are not always well prepared, feedback is often limited, and little extra support is offered to ensure that learners understand the work.

Eden College Durban is no longer the institution it once was. The current management and teaching staff lack stability, which has affected the overall environment and consistency of the school.

As a learner from Eden College, I have to say that Eden is a safe space where we are allowed to freely express ourselves. The school provides a safe environment where learners can take up interesting extra curricular and become members of student groups whose values they uphold. Everyone at Eden is family. With this said, Eden College boasts with an excellent academic record and the school was the named the Best School in South Africa for two consecutive years.
Eden is a school every learner would like to attend because we have a diverse student body that makes the school a well rounded place and excellent teaching staff who are always willing to help you overcome any academic challenge.
