Initially thought its a good school, hwoever i have come to realise that its a very bad school. They do not consult parents regarding changes, they just implement and they dont care whether their changes affect the best interest of their learners. Its clear its a case of " im in charge whatever i say goes". BULLYING they dont address it, they have thia policy on bullying but they never deal with bullying, instead if you report bullying of your child. You are treated as a bad parent. They praise the bullies in actual fact all the kids who bully other kids should enrol at curro westbrook they would thrive there. They alao forget they they are moulding children to be better people. They outsource people who break the kids emotionallyand psychologically all in the name of them coaching the kids. They dont care about the life time impact it will have on the kids. The worst of them all is them refering kids to Diedetics because of things teachers fail to do inclass oh and if you child has a challenge maybe with eyesight or had undergone and operation, they use that information against your child. There are known teachera that you cant raise a concern woth becaise they will illtreat your child throighout the year and will be assisted by the head of primary. The public schools in the location are 10x better that CurroWestbrook. Its the worst Curro school ever, teachers are living, childrwn are going to various school. To top it all teachers at curro westbrook have changed their kids to other schools and a big question is why? Its because they know they are abusing other kids.
Curro Westbrook is an amazing school. The school offers you great education ;playgrounds and sports im looking forward and honoured to learn there next year.
Horrible primary school educators (Intermediate phase) they bully students including the primary school principal. The
teachers lack professional, they are even caught vaping in school (Primary school Principal JUANITA VAN DE MERWE) and on multiple occasions teachers are caught by students having ‘intimate’ relationships.
Do not get me started at how the primary school principal treats the students. She is an absolutely terrible principal and lacks professionalism and respect for others and herself. She is always spotted wearing revealing clothing and does not mind pouring her anger out on students(PHYSICALLY and verbally).
It’s a disgrace of a school and do not recommend that you should send your child to Curro.
Curro Primary school classrooms lack 21st century style elements for innovative learning. Still a very South African public school atmosphere in the classroom. No iPad/laptop stations in classroom provided by school. No smartboards. Walking down the corridors daily, still hear screaming tired and overworked underpaid teachers i.e. public school vibes. Unprofessionalism in leadership roles particularly the principal at Westbrook primary. The school has great therapists, the students return to class calm and understood after seeing the therapist then back to the rut with teachers lacking classroom management skills and respect for one another.
Classrooms lack the 21st century style learning as parents are promised. The school does not provide iPads/laptops in primary school classrooms. Students in grades 4-7 have to buy their own technology to use at school. No smartboards in classrooms. I.T lab fabilities are not easily accessible for students.
Very much a public school atmosphere. Walking through corridors hearing screaming teachers a complete lack of classroom management in some rooms, far too many paid unqualified and inexperienced teachers working here. The school therapists keep the peace by assisting learners in a professional and patient manner.
