"As a parent working in the government sector, I am deeply disappointed in this school. It's evident that proper knowledge needed to run a school effectively is not displayed, and it shows in every aspect, from their disorganized operations to their failure to meet basic schooling regulations.
They charge high fees, but the money is clearly being wasted—corners are cut everywhere. The food from the tuck shop is of such poor quality that it's a concern for the health of our children, and the traffic situation at drop-off and pick-up times is a nightmare. It’s chaotic and unsafe, putting our kids at risk. Aftercare facilities are useless and our kids are not being helped with homework. The aftercare classes are over crowded, and how can a young developing brain survive doing homework and studying just by eating a packet of chips?
This school has failed to prioritize the safety and well-being of students, and as a Christian institution, it’s especially disappointing. You're giving Christian schools a bad name, and I can't, in good conscience, recommend this place to any parent who values their child's education and safety.
I have 3 children at Bet-Shalom and all 3 of them has been at the school since they were 4 months old. I can honestly say that the educators has always handled my children with love and has always done their best. I am amazed at the progress of my children with my oldest currently in Grade 3 having received numerous awards of achievement. Which would not have happened if her teachers did not put in the work to assist her and motivate her. I am happy my children are taken care of and can have peace knowing they are covered. However no school is without challenges, the school does tend to have numerous fund raisers and with having 3 children it can be a bit much. I have reached out to the school to plan better, which I know will assist many parents financially.
I love the school's family orientated feeling. I moved from another province to start a fresh in Limpopo. Being a single mom who has a child who suffers heavily from asthma, I really appreciate the level of care my child receives from the school. I feel at ease when I am at work knowing my child is learning and their health is being monitored. The school can be a bit challenging with regards to their rules but my child goes to their teacher without crying in the morning and that really puts me at ease.
I have had my children go through this school from pre school, they are currently in intermediate phase. Best choice my family has made, the spiritual element as well as the quality of education along with the cost is truly worth it. I could say the school could do with some training courses in communication, however at the end of the day my kids are happy to go and learn.
I have been at the school for over six years, I have seen it grow from a small school to a large school with amazing caring teachers. The school has always had the childs best interest at heart. Their christian values and discipline are top notch. I always recoomend parents to this school.
This is the best school in Polokwane. They go the extra mile to make sure us as parents are happy. Our children are well taken care of. They feel right at home and look forward to going to school!
The school doesn't practice what it preaches, certificated teaches with no proper trainging to handle foundation kids, the teachers are just clueless when it comes to teaching and handling learners
Kids are given answers to copy just so that it looks like they are doing well unfortunately they tell us parents what they did at school
Bullying is normal none of the teachers know how to deal with bullying situations some of the ordeal happen in their presence and still act like it is ok,when a child reports to them, the teacher will ask the child "what must I do"?if you as parent report it you will be lied to.
It is a 1 man show no SGB, no consultation with parents, you will wake up to fee increases with a notice of 30days and the decision is final.
Extra classes are meant to make pocket money for participating teachers,if you dont bring your child in, you will be told how he/she needs help but at the end of the day is about pocket money and not learning,100r per hr per child,so 10 kids =1000r for an hr,ofcoz all Teachers are having extra classes to benefits them.
Our kids are forced to wear cheap material nametags that poses danger to them but their safety is overlooked they charge you for losing it anyway money making scheme
After care is just another money making tricks no homework assistance or proper snack, kids will be roaming around till pickup time
I am happy we are done with the school next year we wont be dealing with such..
I worked at this school and I would never in my life enroll my children here.
Management is terrible, teachers are incompetent and almost everybody there needs a lesson on how to properly care for children.
I had hoped that things there would change around since I resigned, however I still meet parents to this day that are unhappy with how this school teaches and 'cares' for children.
They pride themselves on being a 'Christian' school, but if that is what Christianity looks like, I'd rather do without it.
Management does not offer any training on proper care and many of the teachers are grossly undereducated. In my time there, I saw multiple kids getting hurt because no teachers were paying attention to them.
This school is extremely expensive but of no quality whatsoever, go to ANY other school and not this dump!
