Calling this school a catholic school is nothing but a lie.
The minimum time required to be considered as a catholic school, by the CSO for RE per week is 2 hours, they only have RE for 50 minutes once every 2 weeks.
The girls barely go to mass, and the overall attention and attitude towards their religious education has taken a major backseat.
Furthermore, blindsiding the new religious education teacher by not telling him about how often we used to have religion compared to now is disgusting and overall does not align with the catholic ethos that the school tries to (but fails to) instil.
After paying the school fees that we do, it's honestly disappointing to send our children to a catholic school just for them to come out knowing nothing about religion due to the lack of enthusiasm around the topic, it is honestly pathetic and deceitful on the schools behalf as there was no form of communication (which is a common theme with this school) to tell the parents that the RE lessons have been lessened.
I have been at Assumption since grade 0 and it has been the most amazing school.
I truly feel Assumption has given me wings to fly. The various opportunities that were available to me, academically and extramurally, really catalysed my own personal growth and self-discovery.
I am grateful for the person Assumption has helped me grow to become.
The teachers are all amazing and care for their students individually. This individual attention and care is crucial in academic and emotional development. I am very grateful for the selfless love and effort of the teachers at Assumption.
The Catholic ethos of the school has also played a big role in my own faith journey and my relationship with God. It helped me own and understand my Catholic identity. This Christian foundation plays such a big role (if not the biggest role) in my life today and the it helps me navigate my way through anything life throws at me.
All in all, it’s a brilliant school and I would definitely recommend it.
The teachers are okay. But as far as the students go, it's bad. There's a lot of gossip and excluding kids from groups. Overall alot of bullying. Could be better.
I have been at this school for over 10 years now.
It has lots of racism, but in general it’s a okay school. It would of been nicer if there wasn’t racism. But yes it’s a wonderful place
Assumption convent is a private catholic school that provides us students with a very good academic, sport, and cultural education. The teachers and staff all ensure that each student receives the care that they require in order to succeed. Along with this, Assumption developes young, kind and honest girls, which allows for the easy formation of strong and healthy friendships.
